Revised SOW Previously: Research, design, construct, and test a prototype communication system which modulates sunlight to send information over large distances—such as between the moon and the earth—in a vacuum. This system should be significantly more efficient than traditional laser communication systems. Now: Set up a working communication link which modulates sunlight to send information over large distances. Analyze the error budget of the system in order to compare with traditional laser systems.

  4. Progress • Decided on a PM: Eric • Met with Steve, discussed the requirements of the system. • Must focus on error analysis • Re-approached the problem with the new requirements in mind.

  5. The Next Step • Harvey’s trip and digikey order for testing materials • Begin testing with materials to figure out transmitter • Begin work on LabVIEW code
