My name is Alex Berbecar. I’m an 11th grade student at “Sfânta Maria” vocationa school in Bistriţa.
I live in Bistriţa with my family. Bistriţa is a small town, quiet and not crowded.
I study to get a job in the alimentation field. I like this job but I’m afraid not to be disadvantaged when it comes to being hired because the employer doesn’t know me and I’m sure he won’t have the patience my teachers’ have with me now.
Two years ago my parents buy for me a computer and I put it on my desk. I enjoyed a lot and I began to explore it. I learn many thinks about computer alone.
I think that being able to use the computer is my greatest achievement, especially because I learned to do it in a very short time.
I taught myself how to use the computer, for example installing Windows for the first time, I couldn’t do anything with it before. Now I know it by heart. I started getting better and better by myself in Microsoft Office too, especially PowerPoint. This offers a boost of confidence in myself.
I use the computer daily, approximately 6 hours a day. The tools I use: Mozilla Firefox for the internet and Opera. I check my mail on Yahoo Mail every day and I sign in Messenger too. I use these to keep in touch with my close friends and to meet new people. I used the internet to buy a new display for my PC from PCFUN and I also bought a hard disk.
I believe that, from al the tools I use, the internet is the most important for my information and the messenger and e-mail to keep close to my friends. I especially search for IT news – program installing (TV software). I have a local network at home where I find music, movies and other interesting things.
I helped one of my classmates who had a computer at home but she didn’t know how to use it. Firstly I installed Windows, Office and Messenger. At the beginning she was very clumsy and she kept pressing the wrong keys but she got used to it after a while. I helped her for about two months. Now I’m proud that she handles the computer pretty well.
I wish to develop my skills related to computers being connected to it by day. If I didn’t have the computer to keep me focused I would feel like a child with a true problem.
Experience is important in my field of study, especially practice The respect I have for my parents and my sister is very important and a true value for me.
I indeed hope that as I got my self-trust learning to use the computer I’ll get a confidence boost by doing my job. That’s how I’ll find a job in the future.
