Strategic Goals • Maintain and develop excellent undergraduate engineering, engineering and computer science programs. • Encourage growth in discovery and creative activities, and integrate these with student learning to build excellent graduate programs. • Recruit, retain, and sustain a highly qualified and energetic faculty. • Increase student and faculty diversity within the college. • Enable programs that are responsive to the service, outreach, technology transfer, and economic development needs of Montana and beyond. • Increase public and private sector support for the college. • Increase the visibility of the College of Engineering both regionally and nationally.

Goal 6: Increase public and private sector support for the college • Lysle Wood Endowed Professorship in M&IE Department • RightNow Technologies’ Distinguished Professorship in Computer Science • MSU Foundation’s contract with GG&A to expand prospects in 2006: confirmed ~1,900 new major gift prospects for COE
Goal 7: Increase the visibility of the College of Engineering both regionally and nationally • New position, Communications Specialist, added to Dean’s Office staff. • Focus on multiple constituencies • The COE web site has undergone a major transformation (more on this later). • Stories about College are more common on MSU Web site and in regional papers • Increased quality of newsletters, etc
