Offered in collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark Duration: 3+2 years (BSc+MSc) according to the Bologna Declaration (EU) Problem Based Learning-PBL Teaching Methodology AAU Trademark Education based on practical problems 50% Theory – 50% Laboratory/project work Teaching organized around student groups (4-5 students per group) Each group has its own study room and one supervisor PBL adopted by Harvard University Optimal Teaching Method according to OECD Students can follow one semester in Denmark Three full tuition scholarships are being offered to Jordanian students, under H.M Queen Rania Scholarship Program at AIT, for the whole duration of the program (3 years), beginning in Fall 2011. MsWiNMEMScin Web Science and Networked Media • Interdisciplinary graduate program focusing on the technologies that make the web the technological, social and economic breakthrough that is transforming our lives. • Designed to train students to the network, sensors, media, gaming, social networks, and security technologies, i.e., the technologies that are shaping the web today and the innovations that are going to dominate the future. • We address the three challenges that web faces today: the content gap, the technology gap and the research gap. “a highly complex, continuously evolving, networked system offering seamlessly information, media and applications on a global scale, while supporting and transforming human interaction and society.”
MS WiNME at a glance • Focuses on the telecommunications (wired/wireless) and information/media processing technologies shaping an internet connected world. • Four areas of specialization: • Information & Web Technologies, • Broadband Networks, • New Media • Security & Trust. • It addresses students from: • Electrical Engineering, • Computer Science/Engineering and • Information Technologies • Duration: 16 months (full-time)/ 32 months (part-time)
Admissions Criteria • A completed Application Form • Three letters of Recommendation • Official transcripts from any undergraduate, or graduate school attended (Diploma & Grades) • A Curriculum Vitae • TOEFL or IELTS score or equivalent proof of command of the English language • Interview • Statement of purpose (500 words) • Application Deadline: June 20, 2011 (Jordanian applicants)
MsWiNME Scholarships & Financial Aid Scholarships A limited number of scholarships are awarded to accepted students on the basis of academic excellence proven in a previous degree and other academic activities. Financial Assistance Financial assistance is awarded to accepted students based on the candidate’s academic performance and financial status. The MsWiNME tuition and health insurance total Euro 20,000. AIT subsidizes 55% of this total for its students. All accepted students are eligible to apply for scholarships and financial aid to cover the balance of Euro 9,000. Three full tuition scholarships are being offered every year under “ H.M. Queen Rania Scholarship Program” at AIT
MSITT – MSc in Information and Telecommunications Technologies • A specialized degree in the areas of IT and Telecommunications • Targets engineers and science (math, physics etc) majors • Matched to current market needs for professionals • Training and specialization of students from different disciplines with diverse backgrounds 16

MBIT – MSc in Management of Business, Innovation and Technology • A techno-economic degree focusing on the ICT sector • The program integrates: • innovation management and entrepreneurship • techno-economic value analysis • commercialization of high-tech products and services • strategic management • Targets executives, managers and aspiring professionals in the ICT and financial sectors 21

MBIT Scholarships and Financial Aid Scholarships A limited number of scholarships are awarded to accepted students on the basis of academic excellence proven in a previous degree and other academic activities. Financial Assistance Financial aid is awarded to accepted students based on the candidate’s academic performance and financial status. The MBIT tuition and health insurance total Euro 19,000. AIT Subsidizes 50% of this total for its students. All accepted students are eligible to apply for scholarships and financial aid to cover the balance of Euro 9,500. Three full tuition scholarships are being offered every year under “ H.M. Queen Rania Scholarship Program” at AIT 25
PhD Program • Strategic collaboration with Aalborg University, Denmark established in 2007 • PhD research covers cutting-edge areas of ICT in both the engineering and managerial fields • Joint program between AIT and Aalborg University • Co-supervision by AIT and Aalborg professors • Research carried out in both AIT and Aalborg laboratory facilities • PhD credit courses attended at both campuses • Accepted candidates are offered research assistantship at AIT consisting of tuition remission and a stipend • PhD degree awarded by Aalborg University 26
