Permit Facts Permits Started in York Region in 2000 Approximately 2,000 + permits are issued per year Primary Permit types include Forest Occupancy Road Occupancy (Access, Events & Filming, Construction…) Site Plan/Development Excess Load Signs Over half are Road Occupancy Permits Approximately 72% of all Road Occupancy Permits are Utility Related.

    3. When is a permit required? A permit is required for all work taking place on the Regional Road Allowance.

    4. PURPOSE Enables us to identify who is on the road allowance at any given time Ensures that all necessary approvals are in place prior to work starting. Ensure all requirements of the approval/Occupancy Permit have been met prior to the start of work. Ensure that there is minimum disruption to pedestrians and road users.

    5. Application Requirements All necessary approvals are required to be in place. new utility installations require approval from Corridor Approvals and Records Submission of a Completed Application form 24 hour contact list Certificate of Insurance Traffic Management Plan
