  2. National or International? National • Description: The MMPA stops (with certain exceptions) the taking of mammals in US Waters and on the high seas by US Citizens.

  3. This act prevents extinction and over fishing of mammals in the US waters. • The US Fish and Wildlife Service regulates this act.
