  4. BACKGROUND The Joint Operations Division was established on 01 August 1997 to Conduct all Operations

  5. MANDATE, VISION AND MISSION

  6. MANDATE CJ Ops is responsible for all Joint Force Employment as directed by C SANDF

  7. VISION The Joint Operations Division ensures successful Joint Force Employment

  8. MISSION To determine required Defence Capabilities, direct and guide the management thereof, including the provision of operational capabilities, to successfully conduct Joint Force Employment

  9. JOINT FORCE EMPLOYMENT OBJECTIVES DEFENCE OF THE TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY AND SOVEREIGNTY OF THE RSA PROMOTING REGIONAL AND CONTINENTAL PEACE, SECURITY AND STABILITY IN SUPPORT OF GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES SUPPORT TO THE PEOPLE JFE VISION THE DEFENCE OF THE RSA AND ITS PEOPLE JOINT FORCE EMPLOYMENT

Resolution 2098/Chapter 7-Offensive Ops/ FIB-3 x Inf Bn’s/ recurring waves of conflict in eastern DRC/ under command of Force Commander/neutralise armed groups/ 3 x priorities-protection of civilians, Stabilise Country, Implementation of Peace, Security and Cooperation Framework. • Framework Forces. SANDFSPECC, Composite Helicopter Unit (CHU), 5 x Oryx helicopters/3 x Rooivalk attack helicopters. Support to OP MISTRAL Operations.
