  2. It’s impossible to truly aim a Slinky, but we can point it in the right direction. When it goes astray, we can redirect it until it goes where we want it to go.

  4. Leaders are meant to be out front They need to see farther than others see

  5. Vision inspires followers Change is driven by vision

  6. Vision isn't a solitary thing It must be shared by all who are in leadership

  7. Vision is like: 1. Glue - it holds us together

  8. 2. A magnet - it attracts new people

  9. 3. A yardstick - it measures our progress A yardstick - it measures our progress

  10. 4. A laser - it points out our destiny A laser - it points out our destination

  11. A good vision is a preferred dream of the future. Good leaders have dreams in their eyes.

  12. We don't stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing

  13. We live in a sea of change Everything around us is changing

  14. From the time of recorded history until 1900 knowledge doubled. • By 1950 it had doubled again. • By 1975 it was doubling every five years.

  15. At this time it's doubling every two years

  16. In a sea of change, we need anchors

  17. True anchors must come from within True anchors come from within us

  18. Anchors from without aren't true anchors, they're only temporary guideposts
