  2. Similarities of the Countries: • Dominant influence on all regions has been China • Language: Primarily Chinese dialect • Religions: Majority Buddhism and Taoism • Shared social and moral philosophy: Confucianism

Differences of the Countries: • Although people tend to group these areas together as one culture, each country has developed their own traditions • Each country is proud of their heritage and where they came from, but also very proud to be independent of one another • It could be insulting to refer to a person by the wrong cultural name

  4. ChineseTradition Clothing: Hanfu

  5. Traditional dance: Dragon (Demonstrates power and dignity) Holiday: Chinese New Year (Spring Festival) Begins on the 1st day of the 1st month of the Chinese calendar

  6. Japanese Tradition Clothing: Kimonos
