INTRUDUCTION • This year, Macedonia with Macedonian Mountain Sport Federation-Sport Climbing Association, have organized the Youth Camp for the first time. Main goal of this camp as the name says Opening Routes Setter camp, was actually opening of new routes and education for new routes setters climbers. Sport Climbing Association choosed as base the Lake Ohrid as locality which should be developed as World famous climbing destination. The area offers great possibilities for sport climbing (especially in summer period), it can offer more than 150 routes, is on the shore of the lake which means many summer activities, above the lake is mountain Galicica, reaching highs of 2246m above see level, with lots of Trekking and Hiking trails; An ideal place for outdoor activities.
CAMPING AND ACTIVITY PLACE • All participants were accommodated in Camping place Gradiste, 11km from Ohrid town. Sleeping was in tents supplied by MMSF. Daily meals were at the camp restaurant and lunch packets for climbing site. Education, opening new routes and Rock On sight Marathon, were on two locations • Rock St. Nikola on the coast of Lake Ohrid, only 3km from camp site; • Rocks of “Zli Dol” under the mountain Galicica, 7km from camp site; • Every day participants were transferred to climbing site with Van vehicle. • Part of Youth camp activities schedule was climbing of the highest mountain in Macedonia, Korab 2747m above see level, 110 km from Ohrid.
PARTICIPIANT Introduction for the camp was made trough web page, on which was presented daily schedule. In the same time Invitations were sent to all UIAA members by e-mail and to the neighborhood countries invitation by post mail. Participants are from: • Russia – 4 participants; • Greece - 2 participants; • Slovenia - 1 participant; • Serbia - 7 participants; • Macedonia - 35 participants; Leader of camp was Aleksander Klenov, Assistants were: • Vladimir Trpovski (president of sport climbing association in MMSF) • Ilija Ristovski (president of committee for climbing locality in Macedonia) • Lazar Petkovski (camp site manager) • Jovan Ivanov (climber) • Goran Kuzmаnovski (climber) • Kire Serafimovski (climber) • Vane Naunov (climber) Working team was on the site tree weeks before the start of Youth camp, from 11th of August to prepare the climbing site.
ACTIVITY • All activities were followed by the schedule. The schedule was on the web page. • Shortly the schedule was: • Wake up and breakfast, climbing, education on the rock, dinner, after dinner daily discussion and video presentation. • On the 5 day Rock Marathon was held with 25 participants. • 18 men и 7 women. • Men: Women: • 1.
