What is Banner? • Banner is Temple University’s new integrated systems platform: • Finance • Human Resources • Enrollment Management One Computer System • Financial Aid • Scheduling & Registration • It will eventually replace: • FMS • ISIS • Ultimus Workflow • OWLnet Presented by: J.G. What is Banner? • Implementation Dates • Finance: July 1, 2009 • Human Resources: January 1, 2010 • Enrollment Management: August 1, 2010 • Financial Aid: January 1, 2011 • Scheduling &Registration: March 1, 2011 • TUportal is part of the project and already implemented • The finance module is next… on July 1st. Banner Finance • Banner Finance is a comprehensive accounting system that will show balances on funds and transaction detail including images of invoices • More user-friendly, reliable and flexible than FMS • Includes a grants module that is tailored to managing sponsored projects • TUmarketplace is used for all purchases and contracts Presented by: J.G. Banner Grants • Banner will assign each project a 6 digit grant number that will not change over the life of the project • Grants can have multiple fund numbers allowing for greater flexibility and better management • Grant expenses can be viewed from the very beginning of the project (“inception-to-date”) rather than one fiscal year at a time • Each sub-award to another institution will have its own account code Presented by: J.G.
