  3. Create Industry Recognition Microsoft, Novell, Lotus and other vendors are spending millions of dollars. Linux Certification will let the IT industry know that Linux has emerged as a viable solution.

  4. Organizational Path for Students What Books? What Classes? The Certification Program takes away the pain of “where do I begin?”

  5. Organizational Mechanism for Training Centers Training centers can fashion a program that entices students to sign up for a block of 6 classes at a time. A common training/certification program also allows training centers to compete with each other.

  6. Counter the "no-support" argument New programs allow corporations to purchase support contracts are certainly one great step in this direction. But the existence of "certified" individuals is another. A pool of Linux-certified professionals would counter this argument

  7. Turn students into advocates A certification candidate has invested a serious amount of time, energy and money into the product, they want to use that actual product We need them to know Linux!

  8. Provide Other means of employment for Linux-skilled Individuals A certification program creates many opportunities for employment for people knowledgeable about Linux. Each person who can be employed writing or teaching about Linux becomes yet another advocate, potentially full-time, for Linux.

  9. Recruit new Linux users "Want to earn $70,000 per year? Come to xxx training and join our MCSE program."? The certification program for Linux expands the user base of Linux users.

  10. Assist in the hiring process There are certainly large enough quantities of study materials out there that someone could try to get by purely on studying. But certifications can assist in the hiring. process A certification program can assist in helping managers know that a person has at least a certain level of Linux product knowledge and capabilities.

  13. Linux Fundamentals Students will install Linux, configure the X Window System, and learn to navigate the Linux command-line shell. Students will also learn fundamental concepts common to Linux: the kernel, Linux file system, boot process and run levels, shell scripting, and editing text files.

  14. CompTia Linux+ This course is aimed at Linux Professionals with six months of experience with the Linux operating system. It covers basic installation, operating, and troubleshooting services for the Linux operating system and hardware on workstations and servers. Basic system administration tasks are also covered.

Linux Desktop Essentials Workstation Linux Desktop Essentials is for persons new to Linux and who want to achieve maximum productivity at home or work using Linux and Desktop-based office application suites for common office productivity tasks. The course covers the methods of using Linux desktop GUI tools (KDE & GNOME) and office productivity applications for traditional desktop tasks such as word processing, spreadsheet creation, graphic design, file management, and internet access, and demonstrates the ability to comfortably share work across platforms. The course is offered on the latest version of Red Hat Linux.

  16. Linux Professional System Administration Linux Professional System Administration is a hands-on training course. It will introduce students to the basics of administering a server running the Linux operating system. The objective of this course is to provide students with the instruction necessary to prepare them for the Linux Professional Institute (LPI) Level 1 certification or the Level 1 Sair Linux and GNU certification.

  17. Linux Server Red Hat and Suse Linux has gained considerable momentum as the operating system of choice for deploying network services such as web, ftp, email, and file sharing. This Course provides training in essential elements of securing these network services. Students will also learn advanced user and beginning system administration techniques.

  18. Red Hat Linux Desktop Technician Certification Linux Desktop Certification is a hands-on instruction course. It will introduce students to the basics of configuring Linux servers for networking services. We organized each lesson into explanatory topics and step-by-step activities. Topics provide the theory you need to master the Linux operating system; activities allow you to apply this theory to practical hands-on examples.

  19. Red Hat Linux Certified Technician (RHCT) This course provides intensive hands-on training on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. This course is intended for users who understand the basics of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and want further technical training to begin the process of becoming advanced Linux System Administrators.

  20. Red Hat Linux Certified Engineer (RHCE) Red Hat Rapid Track Certification Course is a hands-on intensive course which delivers the ability to obtain the Red Hat Certification Engineering credential. This course is offered on the current version of Red Hat Linux.

  21. Linux Advanced Administration This course is for advanced server administrators to apply network concepts to manage a Linux based network with Red Hat as its main platform.

  22. Linux Apache MySql and PHP (LAMP) Linux has gained considerable momentum as the operating system of choice for deploying Database Servers for Intranets and Internet Portals. This course offers sufficient knowledge to build and host a database server on Linux with Apache web-server using MySQL as RDBMS and PHP script for database connectivity. This course is offered on compatible versions of Red Hat Linux.
