  2. Students who failed one TAKS/STAAR test were more likely to have failed two. Students that were recommended by one content teacher for intervention were more likely to be recommended by multiple teachers. Student schedules could not accommodate multiple intervention classes (replaces only one elective). ELL students who exited the program (monitor phase) were likely to need intervention in multiple content areas. SCIENCE did not have an intervention level class. Data & Reasoning

  4. 3 content areas: ELA, Science, Math Class size of 15 or less Student and parent(s) must approve admittance into class (replaces an elective) Rotate through each content area on 3day schedule Shared gradebooks and attendance Intervention level class supports content area teaching The Initial Plan

District restructuring removed ELA teaching position Math-Science rotation, 2 day schedule Increased class size, but not more than 22 Fridays were Review/Reteach/Study (1/2 time in each classroom) Computer lab component Grades and attendance – not so easy… Students could EXIT at semester if they showed significant improvement in content areas The Reality
