  3. 2010 Jewel ScholarshipZeta Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc 7- @$1500 Eligibility: Graduating male high school senior planning to enter an accredited college of university in Fall of 2010 Be a resident of the Washington Metropolitan area Have an academic record that demonstrates future success Complete the application Obtain a current school transcript 2 page double-spaced typewritten essay that communicates “who you are” and “what this scholarship means to you” Deadline: April 23, 2010

HHS Interact Club Scholarship 2 @ $250 Criteria: Graduating senior from Heritage High School Member of Interact Club in good standing Must have at least 20 service hours logged by April 15, 2010 GPA of at least 2.5 Completion of the club scholarship form (available in the Guidance Office) with required additional information attached Essay of 200 words (no more than one page, double spaced) on “What have you gained from volunteering through the Interact Club, and how will you apply these skills in outside situations?” Admission to a four-year accredited university or college Selection: Recipients will be selected by the sponsors of the Interact Club Application Deadline:Friday, April 30, 2010

MajoriePriesmanWiersma Memorial Scholarship – 1@$1500 Criteria: Current Heritage High School senior Accepted to a two or four year college or university Applicants must be pursuing a degree in education Applicants must complete a Heritage Scholarship Application and include an essay on: “Describe your relationship with the person(s) who has inspired you to become a teacher.” Two teacher recommendations and an official transcript are also required Selection: Recipient will be selected by the Heritage Scholarship Committee Deadline: May 5, 2010 **extended

To be considered for a scholarship, you must meet the following criteria: • Be a high school junior • Have and maintain a cumulative un-weighted GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) throughout your high school career • Have participated in community/volunteer activities • Be planning to apply for financial assistance to attend college • Attend an accredited four-year college or university during all years for which the scholarship is awarded • Maintain a cumulative un-weighted GPA of at least 2.7 (on a 4.0 scale) throughout your college career • Be eligible to attend a four-year college or university in the United States • Live and attend school in one of the participating geographic areas (below) designated by Nordstrom • Not have a conviction for any crime Application Deadline: May 15, 2010 Click here for application 5- $10,000 Scholarships
