  13. Latitude and Longitude Latitude Latitude is a virtual line that circles the earth. It consists of north and south latitude. The reference line of latitude is the Equator (0 °). Latitude determines the differences of climate zones on Earth. Longitude Longitude is a line drawn from the north pole to the south pole. The reference line of longitude is a line that passes through Greenwich in the England or called meridians. It consists of west and east longitude.
