WORLD 2003 – Access to the Exhibition Halls Access to all of the Exhibition Halls should be greatly improved for WORLD 2003 The new Hall 6, linking Halls 4/5 to Hall 7, will provide new entrance and registration areas It will also increase synergy throughout the whole PALEXPO venue
WORLD 2003 – Public Corridors in the Exhibition As a new initiative, ITU TELECOMhas decided that the rental fee shallnot be charged at WORLD 2003for areas inside stands or pavilions which the venue management keeps open as public corridors for safety reasons
WORLD 2003 – Public Corridors in the Exhibition A rebate of up to 10% will be given to National Pavilions for internal corridors between stands There will be no one-metre set-back for constructions over 2.5m high
WORLD 2003 – Exhibitor and Visitor Registration System (EVRS) For the first time at a WORLD event there will be a fully-fledged registration system available Details of all attendees at the event will be recorded, both before and during the event This data will be accessible toexhibitorson a rental basis
WORLD 2003 – EVRS Visitors and Exhibitor personnel and guests will be able to pre-register on the web Passes for Exhibitors can be ordered online, through the exhibition manual Badges will be mailed out well ahead of time

WORLD 2003 – Accommodation The ITU and the Governing body of the Republic and Canton of Geneva have entrusted Geneva Tourism with the responsibility for accommodation for WORLD 2003 Improvements can therefore be expected in the management of accommodation for the WORLD 2003 event
WORLD 2003 – Work Permits It has been agreed that no minimum wage restrictions will be imposed upon exhibitors by the Swiss authorities Exhibitors must nonetheless follow the ILO’s conditions of employment
WORLD 2003 – VAT We are also glad to announce that Bern has agreed that VAT can be refunded to all non-Swiss companies participating in the WORLD 2003 event
WORLD 2003 – Parking We are still optimistic that we will find a solution for VIP Parking – hopefully in the PALEXPO Gardens We are also hoping to arrange parking inP49 for buses, to avoid congestion
WORLD 2003 – Public Transport We are delighted to be able to confirm that there will be free public transportfor event participants at WORLD 2003 Throughout local Switzerland and across the border in France – or at least within the Canton of Geneva
WORLD 2003 – Road Traffic / Congestion New bus routes and traffic management were successfully implemented for the 2001/2002 Motor Shows – with new bus stops under Hall 6 Further new bus routes and traffic management will be implemented onceHall 6 is complete (early 2003)
WORLD 2003 – Road Traffic / Congestion Traffic congestion is therefore forecast to be reduced for WORLD 2003 in comparison withTELECOM 99 + INTERACTIVE 99 Special bus and taxi lanes and increased frequency of public transportshould ensure easy access tothe event
