Workforce Roles • Technical Support & Software Support Staff Provide one‐on‐one support, in a traditional “help desk” model, to individual users with questions or problems. • Information Management Redesign SpecialistWorkers in this role assist in reorganizing the work of providers to optimize the features of health IT that are designed to improve health care. • TrainerWorkers in this role design and deliver training programs, using adult learning principles, to employees in clinical and public health settings.

Costs and Benefits • You Pay • $250 Education Fee to Fresno City College We Pay • Loaner Laptop • Will include access to NextGen database • Travel Reimbursement for In-Person Meetings • $4000 Apprenticeship Stipend • At approximately 20 hrs/week x 20 weeks • Paid at $800/month x 5 months (Aug-Dec) • AHIMA CHTS Certification Examination Fees • up to $500 value
The Central Valley Collaborative • Technical support to 7 healthcare organizations around Central California • Manage software upgrades • Training • Meet federal MU EHR Standards
6 Core Classes The Culture of Health Care Terminology in Health Care and Public Health Settings Introduction to Information and Computer Science Health Management Information Systems Fundamentals of Health Workflow Process Analysis and Redesign Usability and Human Factors 3 Role Specific (Trainees may take one or more) Special Topics Course on Vendor-Specific Systems Quality Improvement Training and Instructional Design
Apprenticeships • 20 hours a week for 20 weeks • $800 per month
Certification • Certificate of Completion • Certified Healthcare Technology Specialist (CHTS) • We will pay for two - $500 value • Eligible for three, based on your choice of specialization • See the CHTS Website
