HOW THE SERVICE HAS DEVELOPED • New Intermediate Care Centre • Increase in intermediate care beds - now 21 • Increase in Therapy imput to both intermediate care and stroke beds • Development of Reablement Service • Increase capacity to all service areas. • Full integration including clear formal management structure. • Developments in intermediate care services for older people with mental health needs.

Future Commissioning Priorities Middlesbrough Intermediate Care Centre • Middlesbrough Intermediate Care/Rehabilitation • Need to develop a Single Point of Access for Intermediate Care. • Improved access to service for Older People with Mental Health needs in line with HASCAS Project.
Commissioning Priorities for Carter Bequest Hospital • Need for increased qualified staffing ratios in line with the Hurst Audit. • Increased dietetics input for patients on the stroke unit. • Increased podiatry linked to falls prevention.
