  1. Bio Bellwork 1. Explain the dialysis tube/osmosis lab in 3 sentences. 2. What organelle creates ATP for a cell’s energy? 3. What type of transport requires ATP? 4. How will you remember the difference between endocytosis and exocytosis?

  2. Biology Osmosis Lab • -Lab groups need to get together and share their data from the Dialysis Tube Lab and they need to answer the following 4 conclusion questions and draw 3 diagrams showing what happened in the 3 water solutions. Graph the initial and final masses of the bags. • Questions on sep. sheet of paper in complete sentences: 1. Explain the type of solution inside the dialysis tubing (hypo, hyper, iso) as compared to the solution. Explain what the solute and the solvent were inside the bag. 2. Explain what happened when the bags were immersed in water. Explain the flow of water and the REASON the water flowed in that direction. 3. Explain why diffusion did not work with the dialysis bags. What does this have to do with the glucose/sugar molecules in the bags? 4. What would happen if we dropped the bags into hypertonic sugar solutions? How would this affect the mass of the bag after? LAB DUE MONDAY (including graph, and questions NO conclusion)

  3. To do:1. Copy the study guide onto even page in ntbk. 2. Do the purple Cell Transport Review using notes (due Mon)3. Do blue Diffusion and Osmosis worksheet. (due Mon)4. Work on Sci.Fair data or conclusion Solution: Solute-particle Solvent-liquid Don’t forget: Draw a phospholipidbilayer with proteins and carbohydrates (& their functions) Passive vs. Active Diffusion Osmosis ENDO EXO
