Family Relationships • Become more independent from family • Start relying less on parents • Get along with siblings far away in age • Age 7- are more dependent on parents but challenge authority • Age 8- cling to their parents • Age 9- ignore adults and become self-involved • Age 10 to 12- children are cooperative but more independent
Moral Development • Parents should set a good example • Learn the difference between right and wrong • Support their child and talk about situations that could occur
