Global Datasets Task TeamTromsø “Report”, 13.05.2004 no significant TT activities since taking over TT lead from Dave Hastings/NOAA (now UNESCAP) NGDC still hosts GLOBE DEM web pages preparation of TT template for WGISS website  no membership  need to identify members for the TT to be relevant activities limited to global data “lookout”, surveys of user communities such as UNGIWG for wish lists, requirements TT leader continues with these activities; also stays in touch with former TT lead, Dave Hastings; possibility of processing improved GLOBE dataset together

GDTT - 2 • Relevant datasets: • SRTM 1 arc-second (90 m.) data now available globally; (we have downloaded all data at UN HQ and tested in African areas with great success) • NASA science team develops MODIS 500 m. global mosaic (target April 2004), will be made available to us for provision eventually as WMS (several users expressed need for “intermediary” resolutions) • GLC2000 data (JRC) could be also provided as WMS (EOGEO) • received full Landsat datasets at UNEP, available to all UN • JPL and NASA Interop (y2000) WMS mosaic / offered for WGISS for mirroring • work with data portal project…
