Usage Model Document: Recommended Amendments for Final Draft The purpose of this document is to provide recommended revisions and clarification for Use Cases and corresponding Use Models.
Usage Model Document: Inputs For Final Draft • UM1 • Comment regarding LOS/NLOS and data rates: Integrated systems will most certainly be NLOS in many/most cases. Propose 1080p performance will be required for this scenario as well - that is 2.986 Gbps raw. • Comment regarding data rate: Does this preclude the use of TMDS? • Comment regarding range: Propose LOS 10m; NLOS 5m for both mandatory and optional cases. • Recommendation: • Change U1 to LOS/NLOS • Change Environment to LOS/NLOS both cases • Change range: 5m/10m both cases
UM4: • Comment: Ad-hoc network can be LOS or NLOS. Unless everyone is sitting at a large conference table and even then could be objects blocking direct path. • Recommendation: • Change U16 to reflect LOS/NLOS • Change Environment to LOS Desktop
UM5 • Comment: Portable units can be handheld. • Note: Simulations might be done by perturbation of AOA and/or range, to very approximately replicate jitter. For example (representative numbers): +/- 1.0 AOA, +/- .01m range . May be more accurate ways of simulating as well. Could be left up to proposer to specify. • Comment: May be issue with initial alignment of antenna but that probably will be an issue unless there is a docking station of sorts. • Comment: UM5 should include peer-to-peer networking option. • Comment: The download could be symmetric or perhaps symmetric/non-symmetric. For example, downloading or sharing high resolution photos for printing. Or downloading or sharing high definition video or other multimedia content. • Recommendation: • Change U7 and U9 to reflect fixed OR handheld and include peer-to-peer networking options. • Show peer-to-peer option in UM5 • Change non-symmetric to either symmetric or symmetric/non-symmetric
