Ghana • Ingredients: Democratic System, Open Economy, Belief of people/government • Directions: diversified economy, use of natural resources (gold, cocoa), education widely available, resolve conflicts quickly/fairly, little corruption, attract foreign investors, avoid ethnic/resource trouble, land for farming
Botswana • Ingredients: Democratic government, industrialized/diversified economy, commitment • Directions: civil freedoms, good human rights record, peaceful transitions, strong middle class, improved infrastructure, working Constitution, use of natural resources (diamond/mining)
Mozambique • Ingredients: Democratic system, commitment, rebuild economy • Directions: combine modern & traditional, new Constitution, peace since 1962, clearing of land mines for farming, building homes, rebuild infrastructure, jobs
