ITS PCB Strategic Planning Process • GOALS OF THE PLANNING PROCESS • Develop direction for revitalized ITS PCB program (vision, mission, goals, etc.) that corresponds with user needs, identifies investment direction, and contains targeted performance metrics and outcomes • Refine ITS PCB program direction current and additional stakeholder inputs collected over the next six months • DRAFT ITS PCB DIRECTION: Act as a catalyst for the ITS JPO and other partners and stakeholders’ efforts in three areas • ITS Workforce Development • Technology Adoption • ITS Deployment Maximization
Objectives for ITS PCB Program • WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT • GOAL: Assure that ITS skills are present in the workforce. • OUTCOME: ITS core materials are included in training efforts of workforce development organizations. • TECHNOLOGY ADOPTION • GOAL: Promote the use of ITS technologies and accelerate moving research into commercialization or deployment. • OUTCOME: A process for anticipating the need for new training and developing the training as technologies move from realm of research. • DEPLOYMENT MAXIMIZATION • GOAL: Maximize the effectiveness of ITS deployments. • OUTCOME: Increased number of successful ITS projects.

Objectives and Outcomes of the Workshop • FOR ITS JOINT PROGRAM OFFICE • Awareness of the university research that relates to IntelliDriveSM and associated findings and results. • Understanding of the research capabilities of universities (technology or applications development, data analysis, algorithm development, testing, commercialization, innovation, etc. • FOR UTC/UNIVERSITIES • Understanding of the Plan for the ITS Program over the next 5 years. • Understanding of the explicit research questions and where the ITS Program Research Managers have gaps in their research plans that need to be filled. • Opportunity to propose their capabilities for collaboration and partnering.
