Key points to teaching a child with dyscalculia • Have graphing paper to organize. • Try to explain different ways to solve a multiplication problems.
Dyslexia • A child has trouble with phonetic precognitive recognition. • May see reversal of letters or words. • Reading far below grade level working slowly on reading and writing assignments. Are a few ways to diagnose.
Key points to teaching a child with dyslexia. • Use the multi-sensory approach.* • Write the most important things in another color. • Keep Information up on the bored. * Also is great to use in your class.
Dysphasia (aphasia) • Is a communication impairment caused by damage to the brain.* • To diagnose dysphasia ;X-rays, CT/MRI scans of the brain are needed. *does not effect intelligence.
Key points for teaching a child with Dysphasia (aphasia) • Repeat important things throughout the class day. • Like dyslexia try teaching using the multi- sensory approach, Use flash cards, and word choice board.
Dysgraphia • Affects the ability to recognize letters. • To write letters and words on paper. • As well as to understand the relationships between spoken words. • Cramps while writing and odd wrist, arm, body, or paper orientations are ways to diagnose this disorder.
Key points for teaching a child with Dysgraphia. • Use educational therapy. • Repeat things to make sure the child/Class remembers it and learns.
Dyspraxia • Affects the motor skills and causes trouble with learning in a regular classroom. • Test a child’s gross motor skills and also fine motor skills to diagnose.* *Also ask when they hit major mile stones.
Key points to teaching a child with dyspraxia. • Praise any accomplishment made by the student(s) • Use the “small burst” style which is to teach for a small period and then taking a break.
