Resources Hanover Grants • UA has contracted with Hanover Grants to provide comprehensive, discipline-based proposal writing, editing and review services for a limited number of grant proposals on a first-come, first-served basis. DC Trips
Research and Sponsored Programs • RSSP Pre-Award Staff provides important services to help principal investigators prepare, review and submit competitive proposals for external funding. • Analyze the solicitation; discuss with the PI; • Review of any contract req’tsand negotiations; • Complete required agency application forms and related administrative forms; • Help prepare or review budgets for accuracy;
RSSP – Pre-Award • Ensure commitment letters have been obtained; • Assemble the proposal and review the text; • Check proposals for compliance with fed, state, UA, and agency guidelines; • Document institutional compliance requirements; • Ensure receipt of completed and signed internal Routing, Disclosure and Cost Share Request forms; • Transmit the proposal package to the agency;
RSSP – Post-Award • Set up award in the BASIS accounting system • Interpret sponsor and university fiscal policies • Review and countersign documents sent to funding agencies • Review requests for budget changes • Liaison with the Office of Research Accounting • Monitor and confirm compliances • Coordinate tuition and fellowship payments
Research Compliance • Assists faculty, staff and students in complying with fed and state regulatory requirements for sponsored and unsponsored research. • Biological Safety • Export Control • Human Subjects (IRB) • Radiation Safety • Responsible Conduct of Research • Toxic Substances • Vertebrate Animals (IACUC)

Start-up Funds • If you were provided start-up funds in your offer letter • Check out Academic Policy Series 1405.16F “Procedure for Processing New Faculty Start-Up Funds” • A link to the policy may be found on the Provost’s website • Submit your proposal and budget to get your first year start-up funds
Arts & Humanities Seed Funding • $20,000 to fund research, scholarly, and/or creative activity in the arts and humanities. • Tenured and Tenure-track faculty from all colleges & schools are eligible • Must Enhance the reputation of the faculty member and the University of Arkansas. • Budget request up to $5,000. • Plan to offer again in Academic Year 2012-13
