Objectives • To upgrade KIS laboratories • To achievetechnologicalmodernisationofresearchequipment in order to retaincompetitiveness
Background Goodbasicresearchinfrastructure at KIS There is some needformodernisation in order to be in line withnewtechnologiesandresearch KIS prepared a list of 13 piecesofequipment to bepurchased in the firsttwoyearsoftheprojectduration – 9 pieces in thefirstyearand 4 pieces in thesecondyear
The procedure • According to locallegislation • Threecategoriesaccording to thenetprice • 19.999 EUR – issueoforderingdocument • 39.999 EUR – tenderpublishedelectronically at web portal (Portal javnih naročil) • over 40.000 EUR – tenderpublishedelectronically at web portal (Portal javnih naročil) – more complicated procedure
Category 1 equipment (limit 20.000 EUR) • 5 piecesofequipment: • qPCR – upgradeofthe instrument • Bioanalyser • Portablechlorophyllfluorometer • Measuringequipmentforestimatingpowerconsumptionoftractorpoweredsprayingmachines • PC server (secondyear) • Ifpossibleweneedthreeoffersfromequipmentproviders • Decissionforthebest-quality-for-the-price • Purchase, instalation, training
Category 2 equipment (limit 40.000 EUR) • 5 piecesofequipment: • Microscopebinocular + digitalvisualization • Equipmentfor pesticide application • Capilaryelectrophoresis • -140°C freezer (secondyear) • Instrument forfastanalysisof grape, mustandwine (secondyear) • More complicatedandlonger procedure • Estimated time fordecission – about 2 months • Decissionforthebest-quality-for-the-price • Contract, delivery, instalation, training
Category 3 equipment (over 40.000 EUR) • 3 pieces of equipment: • Microscope (Nomarski) + 3D reconstruction + digital visualization • Ultra high performance liquid chromatography (UPLC) • Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) + ENVI software – tender on European portal • Some additional requests • Estimated time for decission – about 3 months • Decission for the best-quality-for-the-price • Contract, delivery, installation, training
Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) Non-invasive method for disease detection and plant stress studies The system detects reflected or emitted electromagnetic energy from the objects Each object has a unique distinctive spectral signature Continuous spectral data is obtained in the wavelength of the HSI detector NEO, Norway
Hyperspectral imaging • The system with two cameras of different wavelengths – 400-1000 nm and 1000-2500 nm • The system can be used in laboratory and field experiments and can be upgraded for aerial photography • Experimental fields: • Diagnosis of plant diseases • Biotic and abiotic plant stress research • For the analysis of multispectral satelite images http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S030442381200091X
Persons responsible for each piece of equipment The tenders will be prepared for each piece of equipment according to technical needs After installation the training will be prepared by the provider Training of all interested personnel from KIS by provider or experienced staff from KIS
