  17. Purpose of the Methodology A methodology sets out a process to formalize the intangible knowledge held within an activity and translating it into a comprehensible set of messages -documents which can be communicated, through a consistent production and delivery mechanism.

Single Window Recommendation and Guidelines • Single Window is defined as a facility that allows parties involved in trade and transport to lodge standardized information and documents with a single entry point to fulfil all import, export, and transit-related regulatory requirements. If information is electronic, then individual data elements should only be submitted once.

Capacity Building Workshop for TF Promotion Organisations • 3-day event scheduled for October 2004 • Will cover “detailed” training on: • Current trends and issues in trade facilitation; • UNeDocs – detailed coverage of the issues and steps required for implementation; • Trade documentation alignment and simplification; • Single Window implementation; • Supply Chain participation and trade facilitation; • Use of UN/CEFACT and codes in trade facilitation (UN LO Code, etc); • Implementation of other key trade facilitation recommendations, standards and tools; • Organizational and funding models for Pro Organisations – the sustainability issue
