  1. Origen de los Virus Existen algunas hipótesis para explicar el origen de los virus. Entre las más apoyadas están las siguientes: • Hipótesis Progresiva: “ Mobile Genetic Elements”. Fragmentos de Material genético que entran a células y se integran a los genomas de un hospedero y adquieren capacidad de reproducirse.

  2. Datosinteresantes • Nuestro genoma tiene alrededor de un 42 % de estos elementos saltarines. (MGE) Lander et. al 2001. • Los “MGE” se llaman RETROTRANSPOSONES. Son bien parecidos a los genes de los Retrovirus. Bajo esta hipótesis se especula que este material genético se rodeó de proteínas y adquirió propiedades de infectividad.

  3. Hipótesis de regresión Es la hipótesis del proceso reductivo. Fundamentada en que se cree que los virus evolucionaron de formas más complejas de organismos como bacterias y plantas que perdieron información genética con el tiempo y adoptan una conducta parasítica para poder replicarse.
