Abstract • The abstract contains a summary of important information about the study. • It should summarize: • the aims • Methods • results of the study • It should also clearly state the conclusion • It must not exceed 200 words
In Rough Draft Include • Introduction • Method • Results and Discussion • Appendices
References • Look through your report: have you referenced every material that you used from other scientists? (the name and date should be written in brackets in the text) • List every work referenced in the report • Remember not to number your sources and be sure to alphabetize them. • All the references should be written in the following format: • name, date, book/article title, place published (publisher/journal title), volume, page number • Kelley, T. Peer Review Day • Peer Review Day – Bring in a copy of your IA (everything you have done). On the scheduled exam day, you will review a peer’s IA and grade it based on the rubric. It will be anonymous. • 3rd period – Peer Review Day (Tuesday, Dec 14th) Turn in copy of IA, the day before (Monday, Dec 13th) • 6th period - Peer Review Day (Thursday, Dec 16th) Turn in copy of IA, the day before (Wednesday, Dec 15th) • You will receive two grades: • 1. Bringing in a copy of your IA the day before • 2. Your Peer Review of another students work.
Exam • After you complete the Peer Review, then you will take a test on what we have learned so far in memory. • I will tell you what needs to be studied in advance • Possibly Jeopardy – Depending upon behavior
Due Dates • Turn in completed informed consent forms to me, I will keep them in a file for you. • Rough Draft due December 15th – Turn in an electronic copy to turnitin.com and a hard copy to me. • Final IA: Due January 5, 2011
