Gamma Flash (LaBr3 and LaCl3) Emilio Mendoza Cembranos
Energy calibration Calibration measurements at 0.1 V full range: LaCl3 – 137Cs-25, 88Y-35,73 ~25 keV/channel LaBr3 – 137Cs-17, 88Y-24,48 ~37 keV/channel Rest of measurements presented here with 1 V full range instead of 0.1 V ~250, 370 keV/channel Same voltage applied to the detectors
Example - normal proton intensity, with shifter Always the same shape Always a strange shape
Conclusions • At normal proton intensities, with shifter, the g-flash seems to saturate. • If the gamma flash saturates, the shifter makes something strange. • Only runs without shifter can be considered.

Conclusions • More protons more g-flash • For this measurements, the g-flash is compatible in all spatial positions. • In these measurements (nominal intensity x0.1) one or two particles deposit up to ~100 MeV (or more) in these detectors. • Information very limited: It would be nice to make extra measurements (low proton intensity + without shifter to compare with the simulations).
