  2. Great news … • As a response to the overwhelming generosity from the community, friends & family, the match from Sick Kids’ GarronFamily Cancer Centre has increased from $50,000 to $75,000 • Every dollar raised for the Curtis Chow Memorial Fund up to $75,000 will be immediately doubled

  3. How will the funds be used? • To address the challenge in detecting CJ’s relapse and in having an effective treatment • Create a new portfolio in Dr. Sylvain Baruchel’s experimental therapeutic program, called NuMedKids.

  4. How will the funds be used? • NuMedKidsProgram Goals: • develop new tools for early detection of Neuroblastoma recurrence • new treatment strategies targeting these rare types of recurrence • design treatment “surmesure” – personalized medicine that it is only pertinent to specific patient’s tumour

  5. How will the funds be used? • Summer 2012, SickKids will open the Nuclear Medicine Therapeutic Facility where this new clinical program will be implemented. • Prior to the establishment of the clinical program, testing on neurobalstoma cell line and neuroblastoma mouse model will be required. • Dedicated research staff will be hired and preclinical testing program can start immediately.
