MountainsA Mountain is a very high piece of land with steep sides and a peak.
PlainA Plain is a large, flat area of land. Remember the Plains Natives? What type of animal did they rely on that lived on the plains?

HillsHills are raised areas of land that have a summit (high point), but are not as tall as a mountain.
RiverLargest stream of water that flows through land into lake, ocean, or another body of water.

PeninsulaA Peninsula is an area of land that extends into water and is surrounded by water on three sides.
PlateauA plateau is a large, highland plain. It is also called “tableland.”
