Background • Post-secondary career education contributions to the field are under-represented in the literature. • Faculty and staff in the career education sector of post-secondary education may be reluctant to submit their research and writing to traditional journals. • Faculty and staff representative of the career education sector have a need to share best practices and great ideas. • The career education sector has the capacity to make valuable contributions to the broader field of post-secondary education through an online, accessible publication. • The Imagine America Foundation and Career Education Corporate have partnered to collect and publish research and writing from the career education sector. 7th Annual Best Practices and Great Ideas Conference April 22, 2010
Purpose of the Online Journal The Online Journal highlights instructional theory and practice that promotes student engagement, achievement of learning outcomes, implementation of technology, and demonstration of holistic assessment within the context of career education. Board of Directors The Board of Directors provides oversight to ensure that the publication is developed in a manner that is consistent with its mission. Peer Review Board The Peer Review Board evaluates each submission, using a prescribed rubric, to determine currency and relevancy of the topic to the target audience and appropriateness for publication. Publication Criteria Papers appropriate for publication will: • Not exceed 1,500 words in length • Adhere to APA format Guidelines • Include an abstract that provides a general content overview • Be submitted as Word or RTF files • Demonstrate clarity in topic formation and argument • Document supporting data and analysis • Adequately incorporate current and relevant references 7th Annual Best Practices and Great Ideas Conference April 22, 2010
