I love to go to the circus • The trapeze and high wire acts always thrill me. • Carnivals have exciting rides and games. • I enjoy seeing the lions, tigers and elephants perform tricks. • The clowns make me laugh all the time.
Be sure to bring money when you go to a theme park. • There are a lot of rides to choose from. • You must buy a ticket to enter the park. • You will need to buy lunch while you are there. • You have to pay to park your car.
A library has more than just books. • Most let you borrow movies on VHS and DVD. • Many have music CDs and cassettes that you can borrow. • Some also have computer stations where you can get onto the Internet. • Some people buy their books from on-line bookstores.
Many American holidays honor famous people in history. • In January, we celebrate Martin Luther Kings Day. • In February, we celebrate the birth of both George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. • In October, we honor Christopher Columbus. • In November, we eat turkey on Thanksgiving Day.
I can always find something to do when it rains. • I enjoy doing jigsaw puzzles. • I can play basketball or go skateboarding with my friends. • I can curl up on the couch and read a book. • Sometimes I watch television or play video games.
My favorite food is pizza. • Sometimes I order it with pepperoni and mushrooms. • I like the kind with cheese baked inside the crust. • You can buy spaghetti and meatball if you don’t want pizza. • I have even had dessert pizza with apples and cinnamon on top.
Darrel comes from a large family. • I come from a small family. • He has seven brothers and sisters. • He has nine aunts and uncles. • He has sixteen cousins.
