2. Personal and Professional Goals • - Personal, educational, and professional goals.This is Tina Fang. Travel around the world is my dream. • Now I’m a student in NO.6 high schooland this summer I’m studying at • Green River Community College. And when Igraduated from my high school, • I will come back to GRCC to study from my transfer to other Top50 schoolsand be a • Engineer. • Identify the field or profession I intend to study • I’m interested in department of architectural engineering because my mother • was a accounting that was used to work for a construction company.

3. - importance of your profession now and in the future.The architectural engineering is important now because the developing Countries needs buildings and in the future I’m sure that buildings will always plays a important part of our life. And with the developing of the economy, people’s appreciate of the beauty will have a big leap, I’m sure that the require for the houses or apartments will have a big leap too. - How I intend to contribute to mine chosen field and profession.I’ll start my study in GRCC next year and if I have choice, I’ll start to make a relationship with the students that’s already study in GRCC for architectural engineering and collect some Top50 university’s information that has a great architectural engineering . I f it is possible I want to strive for a opportunityto attend in the capacity of an associate.

Studying in the United States • Studying in the United States is important to me . • the benefit of studying in the U.S • Education: Chinese education system was not very perfect that we can not develop our own interest very well. Compare to China , America is a country that the education systemwere very ripe. • Environment: America is a country that known as the center of the world. Living in a country that developed well can not only give us more chance but also give a great view of the world. • With the developing of the world, the require for students are developing too. Studying U.S can give me more opportunities. Let me get a wide view and grow faster.

5. Green River Community College • How GRCC fits into mine educational and professional goals • Chinese education system was not very perfect because we can not develop our own interests very well. Compared to China , America is a country where the education system is very mature. America is a country that known as the center of the world. Living in a country that developed well can give me more opportunities. Let me gain a wide view and grow faster. • GRCC is a community college but I can transfer to any university I want from here.

Identify the specific degree and course requirements for the area of study my wish to pursue at GRCC, including  the transfer degree requirements and process.  • Actually I’m interested in the department of architectural engineering and I may choose architectural engineering as my major. After I finish my language classes I want to choose the department of architectural engineering as my major. And after I finish my study in GRCC I want to transfer to a TOP50 university and continue my study. • - Identify the work load or course requirements for a single semester • Takethe department of architectural engineering as major and continue study in Math and English

7. Which services will be most helpful? Why? • Job placement services may become the most helpful to me. • - How the social environment at GRCC willhelp me grow as a person. • As a college student, I think we should find out our own value, as a person. I can not only join student clubs improve my social skills and make friends that has the same hobbies like me but also do some public service to help others. • I’m sure that will helps me grow up as a person.

8. Transfer Colleges and Universities • Two dream universities. How it helps you achieve your educational and professional goals.               • My dream schools are University of California, Berkeley and University of Washington . • They are both strong and has a great the department of architectural engineering that I’m interested in. • They are both Top universities in U.S. If I transfer to one of this school after I graduate I can get a better job.

Identify the services at each institution available to IESL students. • which services will be most helpful. • Give classes what you choose as your major and minor. • Give personal help after school. • Students clubs. • Social services. • …… • I think the Social services helps me grow as a person and training my the ability of social communications.

11. Self-Assessment • Ready for college? • I learn a lot during this summer program . Even I have a lot of things that need to improve but I think I’m ready for the college NOW. • I’ve learn the rules and the next thing I need to do is just follow the college rules and make me better. • And I believe there is always challenges in our life. • What skills need to improve. • I’m little bit worry about my writing skills but I believe I can do it better.

12. What personal and/or educational steps need to take to prepare for college in the United States • I think in a personal way to say I need to improve the skill for living by myself. • I don’t know how to cook the food that can eat. I don’t know how to wash clothes without washing machine… There is a lot to learn! • In a educational , I think I need to get to used the U.S. studying way, improve my writing skills…It’s also a long way to go. • But what I believe is that where there is a will there is a way.
