Welcome Diplomats • The year is 1793…You have all been called together today to discuss whether or not the U.S should get involved in the recent war with France and England… before we debate…. Let’s recap how this war started…. The French Revolution

1793: Reign of Terror • 1. both Louis and his wife were executed • 2. during the Reign of Terror, 40,000 people were executed • 3. as the death count rose, many people around the world became afraid
