    4. Why UK? Olympics is viewed by 2 billion people around the world. Showcasing the green product in this great event will create a lot of interest from athletes, officials and people from other countries visiting this event in UK. It will be the right time in UK to campaign and to create awareness of our offering to public and visitors.

    5. Go Green Revolution The world is moving into a new era, the Go Green Revolution. Everyone, not only environmental activists, has to go green because of the earth's current global warming and rising seas. Environmental changes are not only damaging to our economy, but are now to the point of threatening human life itself. So for a healthy life & healthy environment, lets Go Green. The Go Green Revolution and converting to an environmentally friendly industry is no longer a choice.  It is our reality and it's coming to us very fast.

    6. Olympics 2012 going green The organizers of the London 2012 Olympics want the games to be “the greenest in history”. The attempt is done to reduce carbon emissions, by 50%. The Olympic village will use 20% less water than average. It also said about 90% of the demolition materials will be reused or recycled and at least 20% of materials used in permanent venues and residential areas would be recycled. It will also emphasize on reducing the use of plastic foods. The London 2012 is trying to become a cutting edge example of sustainability.

    7. Inputs on Green Olympics 2012 Olympic Delivery Authority chief executive David Higgins said: “Ensuring a sustainable approach to building the Games will help ensure London 2012 is remembered not only as two weeks of fantastic sporting action, but also as the greenest games to date.” Chairman of the London 2012 organizing committee Lord Coe said London was trying to produce a better example of green and sustainable Games than the much-praised Sydney 2000 Games. Tony Blair welcomed the strategy, telling that “London will use sustainable building methods, renewable energy and low-emission transport, all with the purpose of reducing the carbon footprint.” East Field ventures would like to whole-heartedly support the London Green Olympics 2012 by introducing eco friendly coconut shell based household products, which will avoid plastic items to a great extend. Thus it will reduce plastic consumption.

    8. Plastics often leech component chemicals, including hazardous chemicals, through common temperature changes. Plastics are durable materials. Thus, they are hard to eliminate once used and create tremendous waste. Plastics take up a lot of space in landfills and create air pollution when incinerated. Plastic is made from petroleum and the refining process puts a lot of toxins into the earth's atmosphere. Therefore plastic is harmful to the environment. It takes 100 years to biodegrade, and if plastics are thrown or left anywhere, it could get to animals and harm them. Plastic – A Major threat to Environment

    9. Statistics on Plastic Usage Each year, we consume an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags worldwide. That comes out to over one million per minute. Billions end up as litter each year. According to the EPA, over 380 billion plastic bags, sacks and wraps are consumed in the U.S. each year. Americans alone discarded more than 3.3 million tons of low- and high-density polyethylene bags, sacks, and wraps in 2000 (EPA). The U.S. goes through 100 billion plastic shopping bags annually.
