ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS Recognizing the importance of good relations between Trade Promotion Organizations-TPOs in the development of bilateral trade relations between the countries, IGEME pays great attention to its relations with TPOs all over the world. With this aim, IGEME has Cooperation Agreements with TPOs of 25 Countries. The Cooperation Agreements signed between IGEME and the other TPOs worldwide are:

ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS As the leading public organization in export promotion in Turkey, IGEME provides; - Information, - Expert and - Technical support to the training and information programs for foreign guests. Also, training programs organized for the staff of foreign TPOs, upon request.

ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS • Recent “export promotion projects”in cooperation with the international organizations: • - Training of Trainers Program for Business Management System(IGEME and ITC/UNCTAD/WTO, implemented in 1999-2001, 19 of 33 BMS Trainers from IGEME), • - Training of Trainers for Development of Export Oriented Clusters and Networks(IGEME and UNIDO, coming in 2008), • - Black Sea Trade and Investment Development Promotion Program (BSTIP) • - Enhancement of Training Capacity of IGEME(EVD-Agency for International Business and Cooperation, The Netherlands, coming in 2008 ).
ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS Training of Trainers Program for Business Management System(1999-2001) - Aims of the Project: * Build the capacity to offer accessible, affordable and pragmatic export related training and counseling services to the SMEs in Turkey in order to improve their global competitiveness. * Build the competence to deliver “capacity building” services to the countries that fall within IGEME’s area of activities.

Black Sea Trade and Investment Development Promotion Program (BSTIP) • BSTIP is a joint initiative of Turkey, Greece, the Organization of • Black Sea Economic Cooperation and UNDP. • - Aims of the Program: • * Developing investment and trade linkages within the sub-region, • * Promoting a "Black Sea business and networking framework. • - Geographical coverage of the Program: • Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Georgia, Greece Moldova, Romania, Russian Federation, Serbia, Turkey and Ukraine. ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS • Strengthening the Capacity of IGEME on Training in International Trade and Doing Business with the Netherlands in Particular • - Aims of the Program: • * Developing a strategy for training • * Train the Trainers Course for 35 potential trainers • * Implementing 16 Workshops for 350 SMEs • * Undertaking Matchmaking
ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS Relations and Activities between IGEME and IDB: * IGEME has Cooperation Agreements with 11 OIC countries (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Libya, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia and Yemen). * The most significant step for the close and fruitful cooperation between IGEME and IDB: Seminar on Export Promotion in Member Countries and the Role of Islamic Development Bank “Present & Prospects”, 12-13 July 2006, İstanbul. Totally 28 participants, including the IDB high level staff, from 12 selected English speaking member countries of IDB (Afghanistan, Albania, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkey) attended . * IGEME is assigned as a consultation and follow up point of İstanbul Seminar by IDB.
ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS Relations and Activities between IGEME and IDB: * Information, expert and technical support to training and information programs for the foreign guests, including participants from diverse IDB member countries. * With the special request of IDB, IGEME organized “on-the-job training and familiarize visit” program for Mr. Ali Abd Al-aziz Elisaue, the former General Director of Libyan Export Promotion Center-LEPC, the present Libyan Minister of Economy, 15-19 January, 2007, Ankara. * Training program for two LEPC Experts, 4-7 June, 2007, Ankara. The following ones will be realized in 2008.
ACTIVITIES OF IGEME IN INTERNATONAL RELATIONS • Relations and Activities between IGEME and IDB: • *IGEME participated in the Turkish delegation to contribute to studies of Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry concerning the setting up of an Exporters’ Union and/or a TPO, 12-14 September, 2007, Tashkent. • * On-the-job training program for the top officials of the TPOs/Export Promotion Related Organizations from 6 CIS Member Countries of IDB (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), 10-14 December, 2007, Ankara.

Balkan Regional Center for Trade Promotion BALKAN TRADE BULLETİN-BTB *BTB is published in Englishonce in a year by IGEME as the Permanent Secretariat of BCTP. * BTB is a tool announcing the activities of BCTP and supplying information about the developments in BCTP member countries to the business community all around the world. * BTB is distributed more than 1000 addresses worldwide free of charge: - all the counterpart organizations, - major Chambers of Commerce and Industry, - TPOs, - foreign missions in Turkey, - Turkish missions abroad.
Balkan Regional Center for Trade Promotion BALKAN TRADE BULLETİN-BTB * BTB contains information about - export strategies, - foreign trade regimes, - social and economic situations, -the most promising products/sectors in the member countries with the feedback received from the counterpart organizations. * Trade inquiries sent by the companies received by the BCTP Permanent Secretariat are also included in BTB.
Balkan Regional Center for Trade Promotion Project of “Increasing Competitiveness of SMEs in the Balkan Countries, Strengthening Cooperation and Trade Relations of Turkey with Balkan Countries” The project was prepared by IGEME as the Permanent Secretariat of BCTP and was financed by UNDP and the Turkish Government.

Balkan Regional Center for Trade Promotion *For 2008, BCTP Chairmanship will be taken over by Investment and Export Promotion Agency-SIEPA, Belgrade. * In order to prepare a roadmap for the 2008 BCTP activities,the 10th Executive Committee Meeting will be held in January, 2008 in Belgrade, hosted by SIEPA as the 2008 Chairman of BCTP. *With the aim of enlarging BCTP, related organizations from Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina will be invited to the Executive Committee Meeting.
