Why Building H.O.P.E.? • According to the state of Ga, 52, 000 kids were serviced in 2010 through YDC (Youth Detention Centers) in the State of Ga. • According to Centers for Poverty, in 2010 40% of children were living in poverty homes • According to Dr. Larli, kids are being introduced to marijuana as early as the 8th grade. H.O.P.E. IS NEEDED….

Why Now? • US Poverty Rates Hits 15.1% since 1993 (http://news.yahoo.com/us-poverty-rate-hits-15-1-percent-highest-144849888.html) In the South the poverty rate rose faster. Behind the raise in poverty rate: immigration of minorities and reliance on jobs in industries hit hard by the recession. • Recidivism Rates Georgia is ranked ninth in the nation for the size of its overall population but is ranked fifth nationally for the size of its prison population. Every year some 18,000 offenders complete their sentences and return to the community, but 20,000 offenders enter our system. Many of them are repeat offenders. H.O.P.E. IS NEEDED….
