Luke 11:1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."
Luke 11:2-3 He said to them, "When you pray, say: 'Father,hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread.
We are blessed to have enough food for ourselves and some left to share with some of the Christians in Zimbabwe. Acts. Ac 4:32 ¶ Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
Luke 11:3-4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.
We are not worthy to be forgiven, but God loves us. We must always be ready to forgive those who sin against us. Mt 18:21 Lu 17:4
Forgiveness Mt 18:21-22 ¶ Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times? Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
Forgiveness Lu 17:3-4 "Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him.
Luke 11:3-4 … and lead us not into temptation." We have to be “strong” to overcome temptations but God has blessed us with a way of escape.
1Co 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
Matthew 6:5 I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.
When we pray to God with all our heart We must remember .. It may not be God’s will for us to have what we have requested
Can we just walk up to Jesus today and ask him to teach us to pray? No -- We have to read the Bible (Luke 11:1-4)
