E.g. Agitated person: - • Patient shouted and called day and night – Why? • To maintain his sense of personhood • Repetition due to Frontal lobe damage • Feeling of insecurity • Irritable due to his communication problems • Loss of importance and secure relationships
Solution - • On a 2 hourly basis – carer touched and talked to him • His pattern of shouting studied, and at those times went up to him and spoke. • Anti depressant given • Providing non-medical Therapies. • Result – No shouting, just calling out now and then to let others know that he is there
