The Prince Who Saw the World Based off of the fairytale: The Prince Who Wanted to See World. By: Patrycja Kotowksa
A far far place from here , there was a prince who was always grumpy and never liked the outdoors. He though it was dirty, and to hot or too cold. There was always a complaint about something from him. One day he got so bored that his servant even got tired of watching sit and stay home all the time. So the servant made a bet with the that he wouldn’t be able to go one day without staying home. The prince, as stubborn as he was, accepted the bet. Page 1
The next day the prince unfortunately dragged his self to his father (the king). He thought he could go to some one close to him and talk instead of staying home. As he opened the gate, he saw his mother planting flowers with a shovel. “Oh mother how can you be in this filth.” His mother replied, "Its fun making nature beautiful.” But as usual he disagreed and asked where his father was. “ In his workshop,” she replied. Page 3
As he entered through the garage door, the prince noticed his father on a ladder high up fixing the ceiling. He wanted to “help” his dad but instead saw this gorgeous wagon like feature and thought it was amazing. The king replied, “It’s a one of a king bicycle. Would you like to try it.” “Yes of course I would, it looks spectacular,” the price exclaimed. Before you could believe your eyes, he was off and riding the bike. Page 4
As shocking as it was, he was enjoying the ride. The wind his face, beautiful scent of flowers, the prince didn’t know how to enjoy life up until that moment. Soon he got to his sisters cottage. Then before you knew it he was mouthing off to his sisters how he’s been wasting life for such a long time. But as they were walking he noticed that there was a dark and scary forest next to the cottage. The sisters explained that no one ever felt like taking care of the woods, so it was just left like that. The prince felt an urge to help out after seeing that hideous forest. So he grabbed a rake and started working. Page 6
The prince trimmed the bushes with scissors, planted new flowers, applied new mulch with a wheelbarrow, he was even brave enough to chop down trees with a sharp axe. Took a saw, nails, some screws, hammer and worked till he couldn’t work and longer. At the end of the day the sisters were in complete shock to see that he built a fence, cleaned up the lawn, and to any ones surprise, took care of that nasty, old forest. Page 8
“I’ve never felt so alive,” yelled the prince. The sisters insisted him to go home and calm down. He replied,”Alright, let me just go and get that rake I left back there in the forest.” As he ran to the rake, the prince felt a gust of air come past him. When he looked up at the sky, he saw thunderclouds coming his was. “Better get going,” he thought. Although little did he know that he was heading the wrong way. Page 10
BOOM!!! CRACK!!! The sound of lightning hit the earth. The prince in an instant ran as fast as he possibly could, until he noticed something different about his sisters cottage… Page 11
The prince soon came about a beautiful, tiny home that no one knew who it belonged to. Sky was blue, grass was green the storm has passed so he went the front door of the magical home and rang the doorbell. Ding Dong… As the door opened the prince has saw a beautiful young princess at the door. “Oh, you look something happened to you,” said the princess,” please come in.” He denied. So instead the princess came outside to talk to the prince. Page 13
As they walking along the colorful brick, the prince was wondering many things in his mind. “Do you know the way across the forest to a small cottage,” the prince asked. “Yes of course I do.” “Excellent, cause I need to find my way home.” So as the princess was showing them the way home, they talking and laughing on how wonderful life is and so on. Glossary:Axe-page 8-A axe is a lever, because the fulcrum are your hands holding the axe. The load is at the top(sharp knife at top). And the effort is in the middle of the axe.Bike-page 5-A bike has many different simple machines on it. The wheels are considered a wheel and axel. The pedals and handle bars are levers. Gears on a bike are considered pulleys.Door-various pages -Doors are levers because of the screws which are the pivot point or main area to make the door move.Flag-page16-A flag is an excellent example of a pulley because when you pull the rope to make the flag go up, there are wheels that help the rope attached to the flap get to the top.Garage Door-page 4- A garage door is a pulley because if you were to pull the rope connected to some wheels at the top of the door, the garage will open.Gate-page 3 -A gate would be a lever because the screws on the side of the gate are fulcrums to hold the gate in place.Hammer-page 8-A hammer is a 3rd class lever, because the load\resistance is the flat headed part. The fulcrum is your hand holding the hammer. Lastly the effort is in the middle of the hammer.Ladder-page 4-A ladder is an inclined plane because of the slope of it and that it helps people get to the top. Page 18
Glossary part 2: Rake-page 6 -Rakes are 3rd class levers. So the fulcrum is your first handing at the top of the rake. The effort is the second hand in the middle of the rake. And the load of a rake are the spikes at the bottom of a rake to pick up the leaves. Saw-page 8-In this story a saw is used as wedge, because it separates wood. But if the saw wasn't splitting the wood, it would be known as a lever. Scissors-page 8 - In this case the scissors are acting as wedges because they are separating the leaves from the actual bush. But scissors are also levers because of the fulcrum, which are in the middle of the scissors. Screw-page 8-Screws is a special type of inclined plane because of the thread that goes around the screw. Shovel-page 3 - The shovel is used as a wedge to separate the dirt in order to plant the flowers. Wheel Barrow-page 8-A wheel barrow is a 3rd class lever which means the fulcrum is the wheel, the "bucket" or where you would be able to hold the object is the load\resistance, and the effort would be you holding the wheel barrow. Wheel barrow's are also wheels and axils. Page 19
