Bill of Rights • 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Amendments help protect Americans from abuses of power by Gov’t. officials. • Second Amendment: Protects the right to serve in a state militia and to bear arms. (p.313)
Bill of Rights • Third Amendment: Limits the government’s power to house soldiers in anyone’s home. • Fourth Amendment: Protects against Unreasonable Search and Seizures.
Bill of Rights • Fifth Amendment: Protects the rights of a person accused of a crime. No one shall be denied life, liberty, or property without due process of law. - Indictment, double jeopardy, eminent domain
