  2. Research and production firm “Meridian” being an assignee of Research and production association “Meridian” and central design bureau “Meridian” was established more than 125 years ago.

Research and production firm "Meridian" is a multi-profile enterprise thatdevelops and produces: • computer-aided action information organizations • (CAIO), • - weapon joint employment systems, • - automatic fire alarm systems, • - magnetic and electric field compensation systems, • - integrated control panel (navigating panels), • - training and diagnostic complexes.

  6. Almost all the vessels built in the former USSR and Russia are equipped with devices or systems developed and produced by the firm.

  7. Computer-aided Action Information Organizations Firm started to produce computer-aided action information organizations in 1958. Computer-aided Action Information Organizations «Trebovaniye-M» is intended for efficiency upgrading of combat activity of surface ships of small and medium displacement due to automation and decision making on combat employment of ship’s weapons and radio electronic devices.

  8. CAIO “Trebovaniye-M” solves the following main tasks: • gathering, processing, displaying and documenting of data about tactical situation from all data sources of a ship as well as of a ship-based helicopter and group of ships; • gathering, processing and displaying of data about condition, operating modes, ammunition availability of systems and complexes of a ship; • control of air defense facilities of a ship while solving self-defense tasks and collective defense of group of ships; • control of employment of missile, artillery and torpedo weapon complexes of a ship on naval targets;

CAIO “Trebovaniye-M” solves the following main tasks: • control of combat activity of a ship against submarines and anti-submarine weapon employment • planning and control of employment of a helicopter while solving tasks of air, surface and submarine situation enlightening, tasks of anti-submarine warfare; • navigation and tactical maneuvering, providing of collision avoidance with surface targets and joint course in a group of ships, control of ship course holding; • training of personnel to control all types of weapons in different tactical situations; • documenting of data about condition and combat operation of weapon systems, tactical situation and operator actions.

  10. CAIO “Trebovaniye-M” is an open distributed adaptive computer based on state-of-the-art computing means connected in a local network.

Technical characteristics of CAIO “Trebovaniye-M”: • - Devices built in modularity; • - Display devices: • • Flat-panel liquid-crystal indicators with diagonal not less than • 19 and resolution not less than 1280x1024 pixels, • • Color electroluminescent indicators with diagonal not less than • 10,4 and resolution not less than 640x480 pixels, • Channel of inter-device exchange – local network Ethernet • 100Mbps with backup; • - Processor module of exchange device CPC108 500 мHz; • - Power supplied to system by ship mains 380V 50Hz; • - Power consumption up to 3,5 kW; • - System mass up to 2200 kg.

  12. Nowadays CAIO “Trebovaniye-M” is installed on ship 11356 project.

  13. Computer-aided action information organization (CAIO) «Trebovaniye-М» is an open distributed adaptive computer system based on state-of-the-art computing means connected in a local network. It comprises operators’ work stations (WS), interfacing devices, central computers. Number of WS and their particular functions are defined by organization and establishment accepted on customer’s ships, as well as list of tasks to be solved.

  14. Number of interfacing devices with ship weapon system and support environment is defined by weapon structure of a ship. Interfacing with weapon systems installed on a ship is fulfilled: • through digital channel – by interfacing devices of type • Т-119 and Т-190; • after reception of primary radar information –by device • Т-181. • Central computers – devices Т-162 provide computing tasks solving and operation with distributed data base, located in these devices. • For receiving of cartographic information from card-server a local area network Ethernet is provided in the system.

  15. Main characteristics of architecture Adjustable structure of software, providing easy adaptation for requirements of the customer. High level of automation and decision support, control of their execution. High reliability and survivability of system; possibility of all functions fulfillment when system is severely damaged. Fault diagnostics with an accuracy to substitute item. Advanced documenting of decisions and actions of operator, state of all systems, progress of the commands, tactical situation etc. Training conditions, providing simulation of all interfaced systems, for training of a staff.

  16. Computer-aided Control System of search and target indication Radar RDR CS is a system of ship’s radar (RDR) complex control. It enables to using effective ship’s RDR complex independently as well as in anti-aircraft fire weapons (AFW). It provides detection, measuring of coordinates and tracking of various types of aerodynamic targets: planes, helicopters, remotely controlled aircrafts, cruise missiles at small and medium heights as well as surface targets.

  17. RDR CS is intended for the following tasks solving: - RDR complex control; - target nationality identification means control; - interfacing with systems and complexes of a ship; - ship’s anti-aircraft firing weapons control; - providing of RDR complex with any types of power supply; - providing of fire protection of RDR complex. RDR CS provides nationality identification of targets and generates target destination.

  18. Weapon joint employment system “Blokirovka” Weapon joint employment system “Blokirovka” is intended for generation of control signals influencing executive circuits of weapon in order to provide safety of a ship while joint employing of weapon. It interfaces with control and ship’s weapon systems.

  19. System «Blokirovka» providesinterfacing with control and weaponsystems of a ship. Beginning from 1958 About 120 systems oftype «Blokirovka» were producedfor the different ship projects.

  20. Fire alarm system More than 40 years JSC «RPF «Meridian» produces high performance systems, providing early fire detection and fail-safe control of fire protection means. High level inventions and their competitive ability are determined by usage of high technologies, state of the art achievements of microelecrtonics, computer technology and by engaging of highly knowledgeable specialists.

  21. Nowadays RPF «Meridian» offers address analog system of fire alarm «Kasatka», fire alarm system «Vzryv», automatic switching onof fire protection facilities «АПЗ-028» and temperature alarm signalling system «CTC-М».

  22. Temperature-alarm signaling system «СТС-M» System СТС-M is intended for installing on board of the vessels and the ships for the current temperature value control in the points being checked and for signalling on the temperature falling outside the pre-set upper and lower limits in these points.

  23. System of automatic switching on the fire protection means «АПЗ-028» The system of automatic switching on the fire protection means АПЗ-028 is intended for the delivery of signals for automatic switching on the fire protection means (FPM) and signaling at flame appearance, rising the temperature or the pressure above the fixed limit.

  24. Fire signaling system “Kasatka” Fire alarm system «Kasatka» are to be installed on ships and vessels of mean and large displacement. System provides situation control in ship compartments and pre-fire and fire situation alarm, on vessels.

  25. Automatic fire signaling system“VZRYV” Automatic fire signaling system “VZRYV” is intended for mounting on small and medium ships. The system provides monitoring of surrounding medium and the delivery of signaling on the presence of pre-fire situation and fire aboard.

  26. Complexes of devices and equipment for surface ship's magnetic field compensation system Our firm has produced magnetic and electric compensation field systems since 1963. Since that time such equipment as degaussing devices control systems, unified control equipment for compensation of magnetic fields “Kadmiy” and “Kadmiy-Р”, unified electric field compensation equipments “Kaskad”, “Kaskad-Y” have been developed, produced and installed on many ships of Soviet (Russian) Navy and on a number of foreign fleet ships.

  27. «АМК-51» Complex of devices and equipment АМК-51 for ship's magnetic field compensation system (SMFC) is the newest development which has embodied the long-term experience in creation of similar systems based on modern hardware and new technologies.

  28. Nowadays our firm offers automatic control equipment of magnetic field compensation system «KMDS». Automatic control equipment of magnetic field compensation system “KMDS” provides complete automation of control processes of currents when compensating of magnetic field in windings in condition of high resistance of system against external influences of electromagnetic interference.

  29. Navigating Panels Nowadays main development activity is integrated section ensuring ship control on the base of work station and remote devices. Level of automation is defined while developing of ship project depending on a type of automation and type of the given ship. Therefore, quantity and type of sections can vary except computing core of work station.

  30. Research and production firm “Meridian” has developed navigating panels since 1965. It is a leading manufacturer of navigating panels in Russia. During these years there have been developed 3 generations of navigating panel sections that were installed on many ships built in the former USSR and Russia, and on some foreign ships as well.
