Solar X-ray Imager Archive and Public Interface. NGDC receives SXI images in real time, and instantly provides them to the public. This merging of real time access with retrospective archive access provides the data users with a single point of access for all SXI data.

Solar X-ray Imager: Launch & First Released Image GOES-M launched July 23, 2001. SXI was launched from the Kennedy Space Center as an integral part of the GOES-M satellite. Upon reaching synchronous orbit, GOES-M was renamed GOES-12.
