Registration Information • Completed registration forms are due to your child’s science teacher by Friday, February 15, 2013 • Course confirmations mailed home • Students receive schedule on the first day of school 2013-2014 • New Student Orientation on August 22, 2013

English 7 Designed for students who are reading/writing on grade level • The common tasks focus primarily on the writing process for three types of writing – argument, narrative, informative/explanatory • Include the use of information, word processing, and presentation technology to address a variety of language skills
Advanced English 7 Designed for students who are: • Reading/writing above grade level • Can comprehend challenging texts written in various time periods, express ideas clearly and with precision

Investigations in Science 7 (IS7) Units studied in IS7 center around topics related to: • Biochemistry • Genetics • Structure and function • Biotechnology • Students engage in minds-on inquiry and hands-on explorations, productive discourse, and purposeful reading and writing • Students engage in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in order to propose solutions to identified problems
Advanced World Studies 7 Seventh grade students trace the development of civilizations in Europe, Africa, and the Americas. They will study: • Europe with an exploration of political systems of the Middle Ages • Trade kingdoms of Africa • Cultures of the Pre-Columbian America • Renaissance • Age of exploration
Physical Education/Health Topics covered in Health include: • Mental and emotional health • Tobacco, alcohol and other drugs • Nutrition and fitness • Safety and injury prevention • Family life and human sexuality • Disease prevention and control • Develop general fitness and skills through team sports, individual activities and developmental activities • Activities include soccer, softball, volleyball, dance, lacrosse, tennis, table tennis, badminton, track and field, weight training
