Political Machine • Large group of dishonest politicians work together for power and money • Goals: • Get group’s own candidates elected to all top jobs in city gov’t • Once in control of city, used power to make the leaders rich • Largest Political Machine: Tammany Hall
Political Corruption • At your tables, you will read “Tweed’s Machine” • As you read, you will highlight or underline any information is an example of political corruption • Each table will be responsible for sharing one description or example of political corruption they found in the reading
Tammany Hall Recipe • Tammany Hall was a political club with lots of descriptions.
