Purpose The reason we are doing this project is to see if student’s can tell the difference between fat free ice cream or not. Hypothesis We think that the students will not be able to tell which one is fat free.
The Materials • Paper • Vanilla ice-cream • Fat free ice cream • Cups [50] • Spoons [50] • Table • Pencil • Voting paper [25]
The Procedures • Buy the ice cream, cups and spoons. • Set up 1 table. • Label 25 cups A and 25 cups B. • Label the low fat ice cream A. • Label the regular ice cream B. • Use the teaspoons to scoop 1 teaspoon of fat- free ice cream into 25 cups • Set cups of ice cream on a table • Have 25 students grab one cup label A and one cup labeled b. • Taste both ice cream • Go to voting table and vote for the ice cream that tastes the best.
Conclusion Eleven students thought the regular ice cream was fat free. The Fifthgrade class could not tell which one was fat free because according to their votes only one less student thought it was fat free. Our hypothesis was right. If we did this again we would use different ice cream and have them find out which one was regular.
