All 5 departments are located in the Business and Aerospace Building. Departments and faculty are on one side while all business courses are taught on the other side.
Students selecting a major in the Jones College of Business must apply after meeting the College’s Admission Policy. The earliest a student can apply and be accepted is as a sophomore.
The computer lab is open 24/7 only while classes are in session. The Jones College of Business also offers: Bloomberg Trading Room Sales Lab Help labs in Economics, Finance , Statistics and Accounting Team Study Lab Office of Consumer Research – Consumer Outlook Index and Sports Affinity Survey
Student organizations have a faculty sponsor and are either major specific or open to anyone interested in business. Samples of activities and accomplishments from 11-12: Finance undergraduate research team placed 2nd in the 2012 CFA Equity Research Challenge SIFE MTSU team was one of five selected nationally to receive a Lowe’s $5000 community improvement grant Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance Fraternity made 4 trips to professional insurance organizations INFS students placed 1st in the Information Technology Security competition at a national conference

33 Employers from sales, banking, entrepreneurship, insurance and retail sectors participated in the Digging Deeper networking reception The BEST (Business Exchange for Student Talent) career fair hosted local employers to network with students interested in careers in MKT and MGMT Zeta Gamma Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (ACTG) hosted Meet the Firms networking events Gamma Iota Sigma Insurance Fraternity hosts an annual career fair and has a GIS resume book • The Career Development Center advises students by career cluster, offers career and internship fairs, an employment database and the Raider Professional Network
Dr. Ford, Weatherford Chair of Finance, a former President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, makes numerous appearances on national TV business networks • Dr. Hollman was named favorite MTSU professor in the annual Murfreesboro Daily News Journal Ruthies Awards • MBAPrograms.org named Don Roy one of the top 50 business school professors to follow on Twitter • Vince Smith received the MTSU Outstanding Achievement in Instructional Technology Award for using technology to meet the demands of busy students • Rebecca Foote received the MTSU Outstanding Teacher Award and won the Gamma Iota Sigma Jones College Outstanding Professor election for the 3rd time in 4 years The Jones College has about 125 full time faculty. Faculty are either tenured, tenure-track or adjunct. The college rarely employs teaching assistants.
